Accidental Relief Scheme

Shree Rural Government Council, collaboration with National Insurance Company Limited(a Government of India Enterprise), is working to welfare of people of alll sections and ages between 10-65 through Accidental Relief Scheme. Through this policy, individuals who become members of the council are provided with a life insurance policy with a sum assured of Rs. 1,00,000/-. The terms and details of this scheme are as follows.

The conditions and detailed information about this scheme are as follows:

Annual Member Fee: Rs. 200 with a life insurance cover of Rs. 1,00,000/-
In case of accidental death, financial assistance of Rs. 1,00,000/- is provided.
In case of permanent total disability due to an accident, financial assistance of Rs. 1,00,000/- is provided (including loss of both hands, both feet, sight of both eyes, and one hand and one foot).
In the case of accidental loss of one limb, assistance of Rs. 50,000/- will be provided. (One hand, one leg, one eye)

This scheme is individual and is limited to one year only.
A person between 10 years to 65 years can get the benefit of this scheme.
After 30 days of membership in this scheme, there will be insurance cover for up to 12 months (can be availed once in a year). If there is a government holiday after 30 days, the benefit will start from the next day.
In case of the death of a member, the heir should inform the council within 7 days, and the claim will be processed at the Gandhinagar office.
Employees working in manufacturing companies, factories, and major industrial zones who become members of the council will receive a NICL policy receipt within 35 days at their office.
According to section 809(5), the member will be eligible for benefits under 32 categories, which will be specified. Accidents counted in these categories include:
Road accident
​​Railway accident
Air accident
Snakebite
Drowning in water
Falling From Height while working/standing
Falling while flying a kite on the roof
Burst of gas cylinder or stove
Fire accident
​​Electric shock
Lightning strike in house or farm
Consuming pesticide accidentally
Wild animal attacks
Food poisoning
Natural calamities
Accidents during police duty
Any other type of accidents will be counted under this scheme.
(Suicide, accidental or natural death is not covered under this scheme.)

In case of accidental death, FIR and necessary report must be submitted compulsorily.

Note: In case of poisonous animal or food poisoning, a forensic laboratory certificate will be submitted.
